I'm interested, but have no idea what to offer :eek: I'm taking a photography class and the pics I turn in need to be resized and edited with photoshop. I only have gimp so I have to go to the computer lab on campus which is kind of a pain. Would Lightroom probably work for that? Thanks :)

Mhm, LR does basic editing, cropping, some filters but it doesn't do the full blown photoshop editing, it's mostly a digital management program where you can catalog and archive pictures.
How about you download a free trial from Adobe's website, and see if it would work for you! (You can also download PS5 and do your work at home until it runs out:p) I don't want you to be stuck with it if you were just better off buying PS by itself. -> check out this website

Thanks! That's a good idea to try the trial  I read some reviews on it and it seems like it would probably be fine for what I need. Maybe it's just bc I'm new to it but I really dont like working with the real photoshop in class. It's so complicated, I'm kind of hoping the watered down verion will be more my speed  Do you use Lightroom by itself or do you have photoshop too?

We use PS5 at school and I had the same problem as you, I needed to do work and practice so I bought the whole master collection. I use LR for organizing my pictures and printing, sometimes I still edit with it though. Let me know what you think if you had some time to play with the trial. Also, you shoot in raw right?
