Update to the Prom

Just wanted to let everyone know that it wasn't as bad as I expected. She still tried to get me to let her go at the last minute, but I stuck with my guns! Hardest thing I've ever had to do but I tihnk it made the point to her. Since then I haven't had to even ask her to do any of her chores around the house.
Taking the dress back was really hard. Even the saleslady asked me why I was returning it. She thought we had found another dress. When I told her what happened, she said no wonder I looked distraught! lol

Oh, I am so glad you got to take the dress back!

And really this is something she will never forget (in a good way)

She got caught cutting class on Wednesday before the prom and got 3 days in school suspension.
My punishment was no prom because she was already grounded for geting a D on her report card the Friday before.

I missed my junior prom and looking back at it I'm glad i did since it makes the event much more special and a once in a lifetime thing. It seems harsh now but this time next year she'll be even more excited and might just think twice before making such a bad decision.

MySillyBoys- I LOVE you blinkie. If it werent for the disposable diaper part i would have to add it to my siggy too.

Wow ... the kind of relatinship I had with my mom (or rather, lack thereof: I don't remember a single hug growing up) -- if I really wanted to go, but couldn't then there's just no way back then that I'd have made life easy for her by doing my chores :duck: This be partly why I put so much more into my relationship with Leila!

GOOD FOR YOU  & I hope she realizes that she has something to be proud of in herself for the way she's handling it, too.

Ah, okay! Well you did the right thing...I know you know that, but good job sticking to it!

Thanks!!! You are #4 to say that they love it. Its quite bold of me to acutally use it here, because 95% of the people on here are 'crunchy'.

I just have to represent the 'water before jello' people :D
