I think I may have to turn her soon :(

My dd2 is almost 4 (will be 4 in March). When she gets in her seat now, she tells me she is "almost too big" for it. She sits in an EFTA RF. She's about 37" tall and right about 30 pounds. I'd love to RF her for another year (or as long as it takes her skinny little self to gain 5 pounds) but she's complaining. She tends to complain that her back hurts (although much less in the EFTA than the Radian).

Would you let her turn on her birthday? Wait it out until the complaining gets really bad? (I don't want her to think if she complains long enough about anything I'll eventually give-in). She's not asking to turn, just saying that she's almost too big.

She was FF for a year from 2-3 years (she had outgrown the Titan RF and that was all I had and could afford). Why is it so sad now? She's only been back RF for a year.

I guess if it's a birthday thing, it will be less of a complaining thing, just "yes, you are a big girl now" She'll move to the Nautilus once I turn her FF (I hate seeing that thing sitting unused in my garage).

agree with her... she's ALMOST too big... talk to her about when she thinks she will really be too big... will it be when she's 5... when she's 5.5yrs... get her thoughts on it.

Ruthie swore to me that when she was 6, she'd be too big for a harnessed seat... I told her it'd be when she was 7... well, she was right.. outgrew the Nauti by height just before turning 6... sneaky bugger she is.

It's like when she told me that she wasn't ready to potty train at 3... "I'll use the potty when I'm 4"... a couple months before she was 4, she announced she was only going to wear "pretties"... underwear.

Then, out of the blue, she told me that when she was five, she wasn't going to need pullups at night... guess what... yep... at 5yrs and 2 months, she'd been dry every night for 4 months and I let her stop wearing them (would have a month or two sooner, but she'd been sick off and on and had some diarrhea issues I wanted to play it safe with at night)

Now she has told me that she won't need to ride the "princess bus" (the short bus) when she's 8yrs old... I expect she'll be right.

Anyway, I'd talk to her... she probably is just getting an idea of when she is gonna feel she's too old/big to rearface... and I'd compromise with her as she's at an age to know herself and be taken seriously.
