ca/scenera shell comparison

Are there any pictures of the ca and scenera heights floating around. I'm trying to help a friend decide on a back up seat for the center spot in a ford f150 crew cab. Were not worried about slot heights (I've explained to her the ca will last a lot longer slot height wise) more worried about the over all height of the shell so the driver can see over it. How much taller is the ca from the scenera?

Also there is a new onside air coming in an lx model, will that have an adjustable base like the ca lx? Would you recommend a onside air over a scenera?

Some of her other various ca questions:
Is the lx model a lot easier to install?
Does the ca have eps foam?
Can you remove the fabric from the headwings so it can be washed?
What kind of latch connectors on the ca?
Is it a similar shell to the avenue?
Is it a continuous harness like the scenera?
Is the shell taller than the rn?

Thanks in advance, this is one of the very few seats I've never had. :)

The LX model is a bit easier to install rear facing - it helps to eliminate the need for pool noodles.

The latch connectors are the nice push button type.

They do not have eps foam - just the air cushions in the headwings. I will add that the covers are nice and thick and my daughter says the seat is very comfy.

You are not suppose to remove the fabric from the headwings.

It is a continuous harness.

The shell on the base model is similar to the Avenue - install IMO is very similar to the Avenue, although for me I think I get a more solid install with the CA.

Does the ca have eps foam? EPP foam behind the head in the headwings, not on the sides
Can you remove the fabric from the headwings so it can be washed? NO
What kind of latch connectors on the ca? The premium, like Britax has
Is it a similar shell to the avenue? It's most similar to the 3-in-1s, but with a few inches attached to the top (literally, they screwed on an extra piece)
Is it a continuous harness like the scenera? yes
Is the shell taller than the rn? Overall? Yes. When installed in the vehicle?? Probably, because it sits higher, measures higher, and can be installed more upright (RF)

Not sure on exact heights, but the CA is taller than the Scenera. In my 3rd row Sienna, the CA is over the top of the seatback. I really doubt the Scenera is (but I can sit it there tomorrow and see).

Unless I messed up when I messured the CA from seat to top of head rest in hieghest position it was butt to top 27.5" and the Scenera 40RF was 23.5" ( could be off a bit)

The seating area has alot more space then the Avenue I have both andmy kids have alot more shoulder room in the CA.

For another option, my Big Lots (Three Rivers) still has some Uptowns - the predecessor to the Avenue with the plushy blue cover. Little taller than the Scenera, and has EPS foam. I can't remember where in MI you are though. Nor have I checked the expiration on those - they'd be about 2 years old with an 8(?) year expiry.

I took some pictures of my crashed, naked CA in relation to my stove. Hopefully it will give you an ok idea of the height. Harness height is at its lowest and recline stand is in use in all pics.
