Has anyone spray painted a seat... :)

Might be a dumb question, but I keep thinking how weird the maestro's two toned gray/black shell is (where the cupholders are anyway). The Amp backless booster is that bright colored plastic and I wish they made the maestro like that. Anyway I was thinking of maybe spray painting the cup holders or something? Thoughts?

Yeah, kids picking it off would be my main concern.

You'd also want to be sure to keep it away from the EPS foam. Have you ever seen what spray paint can do to styrofoam? I learned a hard lesson when gold spray paint ate through my styrofoam pyramid for my social studies project in fourth grade...

I wouldn't put a flammable thing like spray paint anywhere near a carseat.

Otherwise, I'm sure that carseat companies would have been coloring the plastics that way to make all kinds of colors already.

Is spray paint still flammable once it's dry? (I mean, any more than anything else?)

FTR, I'm NOT advocating painting a seat. I'm just wondering.

That's what I was thinking, too. I think it's just flammable because of the propellant to get it out of the can.

I believe certain paints, especially the ones made for plastic, change the structure of the plastic (kind of 'melting' it in order to bond to it.) I don't think it would be a good idea.

I was thinking that too, so was only thinking of doing it on the cup holders. They are a separate piece that can be taken off the seat.

I asked DH about the flammability. He said it would depend on the paint, but could spread fire or combust/combust more quickly. He suggested someone could conduct a flame test. So unless you want to invest in that...
