We have a 2005 Kia Sedona and are expecting kid5 in Sept!

Right now we have in the back seat 2 Graco Turbo Boosters in the back (ds1 is 9 next month, ds2 is 7.5) (with backs on of course). Then in the middle 2 seats we have a TFP rear facing for ds4 and for ds3 a Fisher Price Voyager (which needs replacing regardless).

DS3 will be moving to the back with ds1 & 2. What will fit? I was thinking Radian BUT dh is not loving the cost (and I don't blame him now that we need to purchase another seat anyhow..I'm thinking a myride for the newb).

What else will fit though? I was wondering maybe the Complete Air..but I'm not sure how narrow that is in comparison. DS3 is 4.5 (will be 5 in Aug) and apx 35#'s and average height (I haven't measured him recently).

Oh ouch, I had an 03 Sedona (same body style as the 05) and that 3rd row was horrible. If I remember correctly the middle seating position has really long belt stalks. I'll see if I can find some pics

OK, I found one pic that shows how long the belt stalks are. This was my attempt at installing my Wizard rf, but you can see how the latchplate is resting on the lockoff

Is this how your belt stalks are? Because the Radian and long belt stalks almost never work, unless you can get the entire buckle into the belt path...which might actually work if the Radians are ff

Juat had a whole response type out and baby hit the keyboard and POOF!

Dangit....short version I believe so yes....and second do you know if there is another comparable seat width wise to the radian???

I wasn't able to ever get 3 across my 3rd row of my 03 Sedona :( I now have an 06 Sedona and can easily get 3 across.
Hopefully someone else will chime in. Do you have to get 3 across? Oh, nevermind I see you expecting baby #5 (congrats!)

I don't have either of these seats, but in the car seat features and data it says that the external width of the radian is 17.25 in and the CA is 18.5. Not sure what part of the seat that measures, but I assume it is probably the widest part?? Probably not all the info you need, but it might give you a starting point.

Since CA's are pretty easy to find, you might try puzzling one in person, and if it doesn't work, then you know that a Radian is 3/4 in narrower and then order it online?? HTH:)

Can you borrow a Radian and try it in that position? Are you wanting RF or FF?

Our Kia Rondo has long belt stalks as well, and we personally can get the longest belt stalk entirely in the RF belt path of a Radian ... so it might be do-able - don't lose hope yet! It looked at first glance to be impossible, but it actually fit and I was shocked! We also had it FF with belt in that position as well and the buckle was fine (we may have twisted it 3 times, can't remember).

you know, I had to use a rental kia of about 03-05 and I remember those awful buckle stalks... they were just as bad in the 2nd row bench.

BUT... here's why I'm actually wondering if a Radian ff might WORK... in the middle...

BECAUSE... it sits SO low AND is SO narrow, that the buckle MIGHT be able to come all the way inside the beltpath, which is allowed (it's that buckle crunch displayed above that is icky and can be unsafe)

What city/state are you in?? (trying to see if there is a tech or just a bored carseat nut with a radian who could help you figure this out)
