I just spent about 20mins it 7f weather trying to get julias seat out of its base. It was completely stuck. Thank goodness my brother was home and was able to get it out. My hands are killing me. what the heck? Anyone have this happen? I posted about having to push each side into the base to get the click, but this is crazy.

now the nut or screw thingy in the handle part to lift it out of its base is loose. Poor julia had no clue what was going on. On hold with safety first now.

Yep, they replaced mine when it did that. THe only way I finally got it off was by pulling really hard on it towards the back of the car after taking the baby out of it
mine did the not clicking down thing too

also do not let them tell you they have never heard of an issue like this before since they did replace mine already!

here is the link to my previous thread on it

So i just got off of the phone with them. I have to send them a letter with a part of the seat and then i can have a new seat. BUt i have nothing to put her in while waiting. He said i could put a credit card hold on the seat, but seriously this is their problem not mine. im not happy.

Can you buy a new OnBoard now, send back the broken one, and then when they replace the broken one return that one? You wouldn't be returning a used seat, you would be returning the one they ship you.

i feel like safety 1st isnt even listening to me. The release mechanism is broke to no fault of my own. The seat was completely stuck, it seems like they dont care at all. When i had issues with an evenflow seat they wanted the entire seat to inspect it. The guy mentioned they could put a $100 hold on my credit card until they got the parts, but we dont use credit cards and i dont appreciate a $100 hold on my debit card, especially when its not my fault. I have a scenera i can use, but its freezing outside, i like not taking julia out of her seat to bring her in and out.

i spoke with their carseat specialist. She was very nice. The rep i spoke with earlier was following warranty procedure. She agreed with me that she needs the base and seat as well.
She mentioned knowing of 3 others needing to push down on the base or the seat getting stuck. She said to check the latch door thingy and the seatbelt lockoff. Both were normal. They are sending me a new seat tomorrow.

I'm glad you spoke with someone else and they are resolving this. I'm worried about this - we got my neice an Onboard 35 to use with her baby, so I hope they don't have problems with it!

My sister has one that she's using with my DNi also.

Just curious - which models are people having issues with? - the upraded base with lockoffs or the basic base - or both?
