I know a lot of people have been having problems with the LATCH strap loosening on their Radian SLs. (I haven't...yet...) It also seems like a surprising number of people are having their harnesses loosen.
There's the thread here where people have been asked to document their problem and any response/non-response from Sunshine Kids. People have been directed (on that thread and others) to report the problem to NHTSA.
It's great that we're talking about it here, and it's great (not to mention imperative) to report the problem to NHTSA. (I mean that sincerely--I'm not trying to dismiss the efforts at all.)
The problem is that NHTSA moves slowly. Really slowly. If at all.
What really gets companies moving is responding to public pressure.
I follow SKJP on Facebook. They don't really post much except to run contests, and people don't post much on there except to enter contests.
If people want to bring more attention to the LATCH-loosening issue, and maybe force SKJP to address it, posting about it on Facebook would be a great place to start.
Even if all they do is say they're researching a solution, at least certain people could no longer claim to have "never heard of that problem."
Obviously, any comments left should be respectful. And I don't know, maybe there's something in the design of the replacement straps people are getting that does solve the problem. If that's the case, then ignore this suggestion.
