That makes it illegal to resell a car seat that has been involved in an accident.
That's all well and good, but how would anyone know?
Most resale stores/charities around here don't accept used car seats, likely because of the liability.
I just found an ad for a resale store that does sell used car seats. I emailed them to ask if they can guarantee that the seats haven't been in an accident, and I'll send them a copy of the law, but really, what will they care? I can't prove the seats were crashed anymore than they can prove they weren't.
So this is probably a law without teeth, huh? (for the most-part) Oh and the maximum fine is a whopping $100.
