ALR lap belt not retracting--any tricks?

Or am I stuck replacing it? The belt was working fine and I was using it for a baseless SS1 install, but I went to install the Radian there and the lap belt is pulled all the way out, and won't retract back in.

If I do replace, any ideas how much it costs? I'm assuming I need to take it to a dealer versus our normal mechanic shop.

No amount of pulling and releasing will get it to retract? Sharp little tugs or gentle pulls?

If it really won't retract, yeah, I think you'll have to get it replaced. Or a belt-shortening clip in the meantime?

Oooh, I didn't even think about a BSC!

I'll have to try again. When I was trying to install the Radian it was -25 with the wind chill and I wasn't interested in standing out there very long ;) I did sharp, gentle, long, short, tried pushing it in a little.

Did you Check to see if anything had fallen down in the slot? Can you disassemble the casing to see if there is a twist?

When a similar thing happened to us, we had to get the retractor replaced. I don't recall offhand how much it cost, sorry!
