Moving seat from rear center to rear side?

My daughter is rear facing in a Britax Boulevard, in the center back seat. I know that's the safest spot, however, I have back injuries which are bothering me lately and I'm seriously considering moving it to the side. What I'm concerned about is the curtain air bags (Kia Sportage).

Ideas? It's getting to the point where I really don't have a choice if I want to go out and take my daughter, which is sort of a necessity at times. The bigger she gets, the more difficult it is to bend down while lifting her into the middle seat? Perhaps I could move it back when she's at an age where I could tell her to crawl in on her own, but we're not there yet.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I would feel totally comfortable putting her outboard....even though the middle seat is considered "safest" the whole back seat is remarkably safe. especially since she is in a BV, which has optimal TSIP. Just double check your manual and make sure that the position you are going to install in is okay. My DD is outboard in her MA in my Caravan, we need the extra seating.

The curtain air bags are not a problem with your car seat. I would move it too, considering the circumstances.

DD is RF in a MA in each car. In my car she is in the center, in DH's she is outboard. I couldn't get a rock solid install in the center of DH's car, so she is outboard. I feel safe with her outboard. I would move her.

The airbags are fine, but I just want to remind you to check the vehicle manual -- when the manual shows carseats installed outboard then we know it's all good ;)

Thanx everyone. We're also planning a short road trip this weekend, and I'll be sitting back there with her, so I'll HAVE to move her over (darn fat butt of mine ;) ).
