Well worth watching! (Evenflo Presentation for Techs and the curious)

Ever wondered why some seats appear to have stressmarks when they are new in the box? Or why stress marks show up more easily on silver or tan seats but not black ones? Or wanted to know more about that EPS foam that goes into seats?

This is a fabulous resource and well worth watching. I believe it is intended for CPST's to obtain CEU's (and you must log in before watching to get CEU's for it- go through safekids, then log in, then under your name click on CEU's and follow the link to the evenflo one.)

I wanted to share the direct link to the video- because techs as well as non-techs can benefit from this information. It's about 45 minutes long and shows the production of seats. Some of it was just a bit over my head, but most of it was really REALLY helpful.

Enjoy!

Re: Well worth watching!

So cool! I've skipped around the video and watched the part about damage and stress marks on seats. Good to know! Thank you for sharing this!

Re: Well worth watching!

That is awesome!! It really helps to know to look for when looking for damage as opposed to manufacturing marks..

Thanks so much!

Re: Well worth watching!

Excellent presentation! I've seen it in person. Eric had a box if materials he passed around as he discussed different types of plastic and foam.

the most interesting thing to me is that the crashed seats they've re-tested don't necessarily break apart on impact, but they don't pass the tests (head excursion, and such) either.

I watched it a few months ago... it was very informative. It helps explain which marks to worry about (truly stress marks) vs which ones are fine (due to the pins that push the plastic out of the molds).
