Question RF in 97 Dodge Dakota Club Cab?

So our LO is just about out grown his infant car seat, so we need a convertible ASAP. DH has to drop our LO off at the babysitter in the morning so fitting his truck is a priority. We were at BuyBuyBaby today and not one of the car seats could fit on the back bench (no airbag shut off in the front seat) and recline properly for RF. Any suggestions?

How old and heavy is your child?

I'd look at the Cosco Scenera, maybe the Evenflo Titan. 80% of the carseat needs to be on the backseat, and the line or level indicator doesn't need to be at the newborn angle. If you were trying it level for a newborn, maybe go back and try them more upright? If your baby has head control, a 30 degree angle is safe.

He's 21lbs & 26in long and just shy of 4 months - yeah he's my big boy.... His head and neck control is decent for his age, but obviously not super strong.

I'll look into both of those Wendy, Thanks!

We just got rid of a 97 Dodge Dakota extended cab and we always had a Britax Roundabout in the center of the back bench. The top of the Roundabout just fit between the two front seats. This is the seat we brought our 1st and 2nd babies home from the hospital in. Our first was 25 pounds at her 3 month check up so I understand the big baby issues.

We tried every seat at the store before we got the Roundabout to fit.
Good luck.
