Decorating a plain cover

I have been thinking about decorating DD's maestro for her. She went from a Flora XTSL to a Tilla Nautilus to a Black/gray Maestro. (I like it better than the nauti in my car...lol). I was going to go to Joann's and get some iron on patches or something. Maybe Tinker Belle... And some frilly ribbon to go over the silver piping. Nothing under the harness. I know one of the reasons not to use aftermarket covers is lack of flame retardency. Would that be an issue with decorating?

Has anyone else done something similar? Do you have pictures? :D

I know people have glued on or sewn on patches or fleece cut outs to decorate their seats. If you do a search in swap on patches you can see some examples of them.

I don't think I would iron on any patches though. You should sew them on. My mom had a coat once that she tried ironing a patch on and it totally melted. A cover may not do that, but I wouldn't risk it.

I'm going to do the same think for my DD's regent.

good point! I was planning on stiching them on anyway so I could change them for when ds gets the seat. I will share pics when it is done for final approval of course ;)

I hand-embroidered my dd's Husky cover. I've posted the pics before, I'll see if I can find a link...

Eh, I'll just post the pics here. I sold the cover just a couple months ago and it now belongs to another board member's dd.
