Install issue in 2000 Maxima

I just sold my True Fit to a friend. We went to install it RF in her car and  it is just not working. The car does not have UAS that I can find or feel. The car manual was at her house but I had my hand right in to the seat bite and couldn't find anything. So I tried to do a seatbelt install. The female end of the buckle is so long, the buckle ended up in the lock-off area. I twisted the buckle stalk down as far as it would go (3 full twists) and then re-buckled. The buckle is still just on the edge of the lock-off. Just close enough that I can't close it.

Has anyone had success with the TF in this car?

(Oh, the seat can't go in the centre as she has an older daughter who needs her car seat installed back there too and there is no way they will fit side by side.)

Try giving the seat a tug toward the door after you buckle it in. That may be just enough to move the buckle so you can close the lockoff.

I have a 2001 Xterra. For some reason Nissans of that era had stupidly long stalks.
