Nannycam
Im posting this for a member here who needs this to be discreet. The name is available on request. Here is her need:
"I'm desperately ISO a nannycam of some sort. I can't spend much, definitely less than $100 probably more like $50. A good friend is helping me with fundage, so it may take a couple days to change hands, but should be able to be done with paypal. I need something that is not a toy. It will be tossed in the kids room. It would be awesome if it had a built-in recorder, like an SD card would be great. I have an SD card I can put in it. Something like a clock or air purifier, etc that won't look out of place or suspicious on top of the entertainment center. I need audio, more than video but both would be great. If anyone has one they no longer need or is willing to search their local craigslist for something, I'd be very grateful. Mine has nothing. I know this is a long-shot and a huge reuest but is much needed. Thanks so much.
I will also welcome ideas. "
Thanks!

1) Check eBay. I just found several clock types for around $45.
2) If this is truly a 'nannycam', to be used to watch whoever is carrying for your kids, please find a new provider ASAP.

Re: Nannycam
Make sure it's legal to use, video usually is but audio may not be. Make sure your state is a one-party state for recording audio. Even if it's for private use (not legal) you could get in trouble. Again, this is for audio.
All the best.

Re: Nannycam
Does this person have a tv that can record from inputs? How handy are they? If so a cheap (but high quality) solution is one of the $20 wired cameras that Frys (and Sams used too) sells. 100-150 feet of wire, run it through the ceiling and set to record.
They are about half the size of a deck of cards but only the lens needs to stick out. It is about the size of a dime. Add a wide angle lens and you can cover quite a bit. PM me if you have any questions.

Re: Nannycam
Would something like this work

I bought a video/audio camera that hooked up to a T.V. on a e-bay a few years ago for 40.00 and it worked great. I used it to spy on DS at night.

Usually when it comes to NEEDING a nannycam, it's truely time to find another caregiver.

I know here you can record video, but not audio.
