Using baby seat in Van w Backward Facing Seats

I have a Van where the first row faces the rear of the vehicle rather than the front windsheild. Is it safe to put a car seat in that row? If so, in which direction? My child is under 15 kg and should still be rear facing.

    Thanks,
    C

Car seats should not be used on rear or side facing seats. Your owner's manual should state that in the initial warning section. Is the 3rd row facing the front? That is where the car seat needs to be, saving the rear facing middle row for adults.

Right -- we must always refer to both the carseat + vehicle manuals.... So far as I know, neither allows carseat installation on such seats.

You need to refer to your car and carseat manuals. In the US, it's not advised to use a rfing seat like that, but other countries may have different rules?
