Peg Convertible - Some Stats

This might be old news, but I noticed Peg Perego has some info about their new convertible on their blog. Rf to 35lbs and ff to 70lbs. MSRP of $299 for regular fabric and $349 for leatherette. Available in May.

I'm kinda shocked at the rf'ing limit. And can't help but wonder about the harness and shell height.

Yeah, if you're going to come out with a brand new seat, at least have it RF to 40 pounds, for goodness sake. Especially for $300. Geesh.

And I love how the blurb at the top says you should use it RF for the first year and FF after that.

Lame. Both the limits, and their "RF for the first year" stance. It's almost like they have no clue of the current demands of their customers and the features (and prices!) their competitors are offering.

ETA: I have to admit I like the looks of that solid red one though. Looks like a cherry Dilly Bar from Dairy Queen.

those shoulder pads look HUGE! Definitely will see belly clips on babies with those suckers!

I just don't like this: New for 2011, the Primo Viaggio Convertible car seat follows baby from infancy (5lbs.) through toddlerhood (70lbs.). It does this by rear-facing during the first year of baby’s life and then forward-facing the following years!

Also, the latch limit (for the SEAT set by Peg Perego) is 40lbs... very different from most seats testing it and passing it to much higher, but defaulting to the vehicle manufacturers to set the limit)
