Police officer charged with impaired driving.

This was just posted by my friend on another forum I frequent. Just to clarify it was the off-duty police officer that caused the accident, fled the scene and failed a breathalyzer test...not her brother. This is in my home province.

I just got this email from my brother. He is going to University in Stoon.

"Police officer charged with impaired driving"

He was in the car that got hit. (Everyone was ok thankgoodness). In the article it says "minimal" damage to the car but his friend says that the adjuster says that he thinks it will be written off!!!

I couldn't believe that the police officer involved fled the scene of the accident.... and drinking and driving... I hope that he would be treated as any other drunk driver!!!

Aren't people GREAT? @@. lol

There was an incident here last year or the year before, involving either the police chief or sheriff, involved him being pissed at the police officer who stopped him, IICC (FTR, he's no longer sheriff of Portsmouth)

In one of the cities near me they use cameras to catch people speeding and running red lights. Well, an on duty officer was caught running a red light and speeding in her patrol car. She was NOT going to an emergency. She has been fighting paying the ticket because she is an officer in the city and she was in her patrol car. Yesterday the judge made her pay it! I think it's great. Police officers should be held to same rules as everybody else. I also think that officers should try to set the example for everybody else. Yes, that is a lot on their shoulders, but they are the ones people see everyday and they should drive accordingly. JMO!

on the flip side, in September, Kewaskum Police Chief Dick Knoebel wrote himself a $235 ticket for passing a stopped school bus.

It was refreshing to know that he wrote himself a ticket for breaking the law
