What should I do now?

So DD1 puked all over her TFP last week. I put the cover through the wash, wiped the straps and shell, and rinsed the buckle the best I could. I even called Learning Curve to make sure about the buckle since there are no instructions for cleaning in the manual (other than the cover and shell). Well now when you try to do up the buckle it grinds and takes a lot more effort. I'm thinking maybe it got rusty inside or something. What do I do about that?

I would see how much a replacement buckle would cost, just to be on the safe side.

Me too. I just ordered a set of replacement straps for my GN, just to have in case of spills or messes. I don't want to be without in case they need to be cleaned and really don't want to mess with them much..

I don't know about that seat but the gn straps are 10.00.

The buckle cannot be removed on the True Fit

 *tucking that up into my hat to try and remember for future use*

Wow. That's, um, not so user-friendly. (Though that's just about one of the only negatives about this seat, well, that and the RFing weight limit.)

Sorry, that wasn't very helpful. I'm just shocked the buckle isn't removable. :scratcheshead:

Yeah, I never really thought about it until she upchucked all over it.

This!! I can not imagine why anyone thought this was a good idea.. unless the people designing it had no kids.....

So they said to turn the seat upside down and let the buckle soak in warm water overnight if possible. Apparently it shouldn't be rusty at all. We'll see if it works.

Will that make you feel okay about using it?

If it stops the grinding, then yes, I will use it. The lady said maybe there was still some debris stuck in it or something. If it doesn't make a difference, then am supposed to call back.
