DS doesn't like FF

I turned DS's seat in DH's truck FF last week (DS just turned 3 and is about 29lb). DS doesn't ride in the truck often and DH sometimes has other people ride with him and it seems like the passenger seat is always getting pushed back into the RF Uptown. So I figured now that DS is 3 I'd just turn him in the truck to make life a little easier. Well, today DH took my SUV and I took had the truck to go pick up DD from school. DS wanted me to stop halfway to school (.75 mile drive) and turn his seat around. Mainly because he's got some sensory issues and exhibits them by not liking change at all.

So I guess I'll go turn the seat back around, but one more growth spurt and he'll be as close as I want him to get to the 33lb RF limit on the MA in my SUV. Should be interesting when that happens.

Not sure the nature of his sensory issues and if this would help or make it worse, but maybe you could make kind of a big deal out of it, have a little "big boy" celebration with a treat of some sort? (Granted, I hate the "big boy/girl" concept for going forward facing, but in this case maybe it would help?)

He'll get over it when he really needs to go FF. He had a huge meltdown last summer when we rotated his bed from one wall to another. It only lasted a couple of days and he was fine. I think the sensory thing is the main reason he wants the seat back the way it was. (he also gets angry most of the time when I put my hair in a ponytail )
