New seats? And which seats where.

I ordered a Cowmoo FR85  and plan to order another one as soon as I get some more extra $$$.

Currently the kids are both FFing in a Mastro and a Scenera. DD has almost outgrown the Scenera by height.

I also need a seat for my mom's car for DS and a seat for the sitter's car for DD by February.

ETA: So apparently DD went ahead and posted this while I stepped away from my laptop to answer the phone

Anyhoo. I think DS is going to go into the FR85 and DD will go into the Maestro until I buy another FR85. At that point the Maestro will go in my mom's car but I will still need a seat for DD for the sitter's car. Or should I put the Maestro in the sitter's car and get DS a HB TB for my mom's car? He rarely rides with her, but when he does its usually not planned and very nice to already have a seat installed.

He does great for short periods of time. He rides in a booster in his sitter's car and does good. Sitter is not that great with car seats (we absolutely love her though) so that's why he's in a booster in her car. DD will be starting with her full time in February (when she turns 3 and ages out of her current daycare) so I'm kinda worried about that... but I think if I install the seat she will use it correctly.

Does your mom have a seat for your dd already or does she only take your ds by himself?

She's got a Cosco HBB w/ 5pt harness. Not the best, but she bought it new a few months ago and I installed it so its safe

If your mom will use the booster correctly and ds will sit in it correctly I think that's fine. If you would prefer him in a harness or your mom can't set up the booster correctly then I would go with a maestro.

If she doesn't take him often, I think a HB Turbo would be fine, then you can use the Maestro for your dd in your babysitter's car. Or a 2nd Maestro, they aren't much more than a HB Turbo are they?

Yeah, that's why I'm torn. I'd either get a HB TB for DS or a Chase for DD (she's 30lbs at *almost* 3, I dont think she'll need the 50lb weight limit any time soon). Both are about the same price.

Just wanted to mention the Chase is only 40 pounds. Target had a misprint on their shelves for awhile. But, she has a ways to go before she gets to that as well :) How close is she to outgrowing the harness on the Cosco HBB, if she's outgrowing the Scenera already?

Yeah, I was saying that I would just get a Chase because the Maestro would be overkill right now ;) She's still got a little room in the HBB and rarely goes with my mom.

Ah hell, maybe I'll just buy a HB TB, a Mastro, and a Chase. Put a Maestro in my mom's car, put the Chase in the sitter's, and keep the TB and a Maestro as back ups and switch them out as needed.

Ok, I misunderstood :)

I say put the Maestro for DS in Grandma's car. Chase for DD in the sitter's car. Then if/when DD outgrowns the Cosco HBB she can have the Maestro. Keep an eye out for sales on the HBTB. When you see a low price, grab one. I know last year around Christmas, Target had a deal with a gift card that made the HBTB $20 or 25 after the GC. I think you bought it for $50 and got a $25 Target GC.
