Yay! I helped my mom to be friend!

My twin mom to be came over to pick up some things from me. I saw she had the evenflo embrace car seats in her car. I asked if she'd then gotten them to fit, since I had previously mentioned the handle rules. She told me she actually just set the seats in her car and was planning to go to a firestation to get them checked. I offered to show her how before she had them checked and told her about seatcheck.org. (I plan to email it to her because of preggo brain. I have been damaged with it permanently...)

I installed the base behind the driver's seat (I figured since she had two of them, I could show her with one and she do the other.), then popped on the seat, attempted to put the handle back. The handle made it, shoved into the driver's seat. I told mom about the 1.5 inch clearance and also answered her question as to why the handle must be down. Then, I thought. I moved the base to the middle seat with seatbelt. Mom went around and put the other base in with seatbelt on the passenger's side. They fit side by side with the handles down and front seat clearance!

I then showed her how to adjust the rear-adjusting seats since only one of the seats had the harness in the lowest slots. I re-iterated that she still needs to get the seats checked and she said she planned on it.

It's nice when people let me help:) I am looking forward to some day when I can take the classes and become certified.

yay!! good job! and she'll probably like that setup when she's driving, anyway... if she gets one mirror, she could probably glance at both babies at the same time.

I bet she is feeling fortunate to have a knowledgeable friend helping her keep her soon-to-be babies safe! Good work!

Yay! Now, let's hope the tech she gets confirms the 1.5 inch rule and doesn't tell her it's fine to have them touch or anything...

(I can't be the only one that has trouble parsing this title every time I read it, right?)

It needs some hyphens .

Yeah, yeah. I was being quick. I'm hoping mom-to-be friend will go to Lorismurph. If not, I have had some experience with the other tech she's likely to go to and she seems to be pretty good.

A cpst definitely needs to check the install because we were on my slanted driveway, so I didn't even worry about recline. (I popped the feet out of the bases.) I told her that you need to check recline on a flat surface. I was just showing her the basics of installation.
