cover smells musty?

I tried to do a search, but I didn't turn up anything (or I'm not good at searching). I just bought a used cover. I took it out of the box, and it smells musty. I thought it was just a difference in detergents, so I washed it (all free & clear), and I think it is just musty. It's hanging to dry right now. Should I wash it in vinegar? Sit it outside to air on a sunny day?

I would probably try a vinegar wash to see if that helps. Hopefully it will come clean so you can use it.

I would probably air it out for a couple of days, and then re-wash with vinegar. I always use vinegar in our washer because we use a free & clear detergent and things just don't smell fresh otherwise.
