I loved my old roundabout. It was a great seat. It didn't allow us to rearfacing past 2 years of age or keep my kids harnessed passed 3 years of age, but it was a great travel seat and so easy to install in the car.

I was sad when I let Babies-R-Us take it away during their trade-in event.

I have one of the last ones and I'm hoping that DS2 makes it to 2 rfing like DS1 did. It's not my favorite for a FFing seat, but I might keep it around for a spare after that. It's great for quick installs!

I  my roundabout! We got it when DD was just over a year old. It fits RFing so nicely in a tight space (Subaru Forster with ridiculously small backseat and no legroom for front passengers). We stopped using it for about six months when she no longer fit RFing but I wasn't ready for her to FF. After that it was our spare/travel seat - PERFECT for that! Lightweight, easy to install. She fit FFing until this past August when she was 3y9m.

Now DS is using it, and I love it so much more than his infant seat. He is much more comfortable in it, it is easy to get him in and out, harness adjusts like a dream, it has a RFing tether, and he sleeps so well in it.

Honestly, if average parents would use a RA to the RFing and FFing height limit and then move kids to a harnessed booster, they would still end up RFing longer than they do now. Most parents I know can't WAIT to turn their kid FFing at age one because whatever convertible seat they have (the Marathon or various 3-in-1s are popular here) takes up so much room RFing in a small backseat. I really think that ERFing is actually served better by having somewhat SMALLER convertible seats available that can get the child to 2 years/30 lbs. and still be convenient and comfortable.

We had a hand-me-down roundabout that expires next spring (I believe), and my daughter outgrew it by height at 15 months! Fortunately it was only our back-up seat, but considering it doesn't work for newborns it would have been a terrible purchase for us, had it been new. I did love how easily it installed in our Impreza and how tiny it was, though.

you know, if they'd made lower bottom slots to make it more comparable to the coccoro, it would have been one of the best small convertibles... that's all they needed to do with it, really... make it an option for skipping an infant seat... it could have gotten a lot of kids from newborn- ready for the frontier if they did.

My expired RA is sitting in my living room. I don't have the heart to part with it. I love that seat, and would buy another in a heart beat if I could find one. It's been my favorite Britax seat for years.

DD2 is in one that expires next year :(. And I think I will send that seat with DD1 to Hawaii (if she goes), just because it is so small. DD1 still fit it when I handed it down to DD2 about two months ago, so I think She still fits in in at almost 4.5. But my girls are petite . The RA50 that DD1 is in right now will probably last her another year or two since she still has some distance up to the second to top slot.
