Question What's your favorite spare seat?

I am looking to get a cheapy spare seat, problem is, it needs to be in a 02 Alero, with no side air bags, does have latch outboard, installs seats decently. Used to be our main car before # 3 and we never had big issues. We currently have a RA in there, but it is expiring. We have DD ERF in the middle, but I would kind of like to move her outboard, because when I do on the rare occasion drive this car, my mom sometimes sits in the back with DD. I am thinking I might want something with a little side impact protection. Not sure if I can just do a Scenera, how about the Safety 1st Avenue or the Onside Air? My DD is a peanut, so I am not too worried about weight restrictions. I am a little worried about how tall the shell is since RF it gets a little squishy with front seats. I don't know if I could get my RA 50 in there without it interferring with the front seats, never tried. Oh, one more thing we are going to travel by plane next year, so a lightweight seat we could bring along on a plane would help too. Thanks!

I love the Scerena that DD rides in with my mom and my babysitter. She rides driver's side in a Corolla and a Scion xB.

My spares are a Scenera, a Cosco HBB, and a Pronto. The Scenera wins hands-down. I do also have a Nautilus not in use at the moment and a CCO I need to sell, so if I count the Nautilus as a spare, it wins, THEN the Scenera. (But of course it can't RF; if it did, it would be the perfect seat.)

The OnSide Air is just a Scenera with the Air release wings. If those are important to you, then spend the extra dough. I like my Avenue fine, but I don't think I'd necessarily strive to grab it over a Scenera... especially if I wasn't worrying about the seat being outgrown.

If you can't do a Scenera, than an EFTA (on sale) might be your best bet. It's not very three-across friendly, though.
