Question blindspot mirrors

Hi everyone, I just got a new commercial van, your typical white work van with no side windows. The blind spots are driving me crazy and I am having trouble locating the right mirrors. I need a backup mirror- it seems like there should be some small convex backup mirrors that attach to the rim for ladder racks, I would rather not drill holes in my van or mess up the paint with adhesive. Does anyone know of a item like that?

My other problem is with blind spots that I described in a rant that I just wrote to the AAA Transportation Safety Association, may as well past it here:

Hi, I recently purchased a utility van that has no windows on the sides. I got small stick on convex mirrors to take care of the next lane blind spots. However there is still a horrible blind spot because of the lack of windows. It is farther out mostly on the right side and prevents me from seeing oncoming traffic if I am backing out of a driveway at an angle, or if I am merging into traffic. An additional mirror would take care of the problem, on that angled farther out as opposed to the stick on bubbles that I have that allow me to see the next lane.

I have been searching online for two hours now trying to find a suitable mirror. I have not found anything that mentions this blindspot, even though vans without windows are very common. This seems to be a major safety issue that no one is addressing. I just thought that I would write to you and perhaps you could write an article or something to so that other van drivers could get online and find the right mirrors for their windowless vans.

Well I think that sums up my problem. Hope someone here can help.

On my one-ton the blind spot is similar when its loaded, and I have found that the larger convex mirror stuck on the upper corner of the door mirrors has solved this issue. Some manufacturers also have a mirror with a second section in the bottom that can be set to view further beside the vehicle, and this would completely replace your current mirrors, however the price would be extensive. You can also get convex mirrors that bolt on to the older "frame" structure mirror mountings, and this could be adapted to fit on the ladder rack with a little bit of handy work.

Check the adjustment of your mirrors. If they are adjusted properly you should have to move your head towards the mirror to see the side of the vehicle. This will give you the largest area of view beside the vehicle.

A backup camera may be a good option for you, as it would significantly increase the view space behind the vehicle.

Another thing that will really help is to back into driveways. That way you can give the area a scan before you back in, and then you have a clear view of the roadway when you pull out. This really is a good practice with any vehicle.
