We traded vehicles and she fits the vivo again?

So A no longer fit in the Vivo in our Jeep commander, but she also 5 stepped in it, so it wasn't an issue. We traded in the Jeep for a Grand Caravan. I'm not nearly as happy with the lap belt fit in it as I was in the Jeep. We had brought along the Vivo so that when we test drove, E could ride in that and a backless for A if she didn't fit in the seat belt alone in what we test drove.

Anywho, I had been letting her ride in the seat belt for a few days and just decided I didn't like it. I pulled out the backless and had the same problem I had in the jeep with it and the shoulder belt being too far out on the edge of her shoulder. So, for the heck of it, since the vivo was in the car, I tried it. She's still on the tallest notch, but in the van, for some reason she has a smidgen of room again. What the heck is up with that? I'm very pleased and it hopefully will buy her enough time to get a bit better lap fit in the seat belt only. It's not horrible in terms of fit without a booster, but I would like to see it a little better.

This was basically just a rambling post to say...Hey! Looky what I found out! We gained a bit of room in the new car!

So...uh. That is all.

It's probably down to the contours of the vehicle seat and the angle it makes the booster sit at, is my guess. :)

what year GC did you get? the '08 and '09 had a recall come out for the power sliding doors.. Just wanted to give you a heads up as you wouldn't be in the system yet fro recall notices if you just got it .

By any chance would that be because the doors would pop open or not close at all?

It wasn't my van, but my friend's had so many issues they traded it in. We called it the "Space shuttle from hell." Seriously she'd be driving and the breaks would go out, or the whole computer would crash. The doors were the least of her worry.

We got a new '10. They were throwing rebates out left and right to get then off the lot, being year end and all. Dealers lose money on what they are left with at year end. I ended up exchanging no money, they paid off our Jeep and I got a LOWER payment than I was already paying, and I'm only paying a year longer that I already was. Plus, I hadn't made the Jeep payment this month and we don't have our van one due until the end of Jan. Everything just fell into place so it worked out great. Now we have all kinds of room, about 30 extr bucks a month in our pocket and we'll have some Christmas money.

As for the booster, the captain's chairs in the van are very sloped and reclined even at their uppermost position. So it probably is the angles of the seat. In the jeep, we had no slope at all of the seats. Either way, I'm glad to get to use it. It's kind of funny to see a kid in a booster and still have their feet flat on the floor, though lol. I'm sure all she needs is just a hair growth to get it fully on her lap, but I'll happily use the booster as long as she fits :).
