Basics - I have two kids - a 3.5 yr old and and 1.5 year old both boys. Another child in the future is possible but unlikely.
Option A (Cadillac): I can get the 3.5 year old a true cadillac of a car seat. Very comfortable and roomy, installs like a dream - but it only has a 3.5 year life span and does not convert to a booster.
Option B (Ford Taurus): I can get him a typical forward facing seat that converts to a booster, has very good, but maybe not excellent comfort, but has a 7 year life span.
Let's assume both were the same price, installed easily in my vehicle, and both were viewed as very safe seats.
While I don't forsee having financial difficulty to buy a new seat in 3.5 years (and expect a high-back booster will be a viable option when DS#1 is that age (7)), I do have the younger child to use a seat with a longer life and I am generally frugal by nature.
Would you go for the Cadillac or Ford Taurus?
