Mine seems to have a really long strap.. when I hook it it ends up tripping anyone who gets in the third row of my van.. Can I loop it up and tie it off, Or must it remain hanging free?? Thanks!

Zip ties or a rubber band. I wouldn't attach it to the in-use portion of the tether, but just gather it up and attach it to itself (if that makes sense,) past where the adjuster meets the seat. Not sure if that's protocol or just personal preference, though.

Yeah, tie it up, loosely. That can actual be a hazard. I think there was some on the this board that had the tail of her tether hanging out the car door and it got caught in the tire as she drove down the street. I know my RN has enough tether strap to hang out the door.

Makes perfect sense. I can loop it up.. put the tie through and then still be able roll more slack or get some length if I move the seat.

Thanks..

@atsuydam.. That is darn scary.......

Another suggestion would be to use a fabric covered hair scrunchy/ponytail holder to bundle up excess top tether strap length. IME plain rubber bands tend to become brittle and break easily after a while in the car. I :love: the design on the original Safeguard Go carseat which has velcro on the top tether strap to bundle up the excess length.

I like to stuff the excess down behind the carseat.

Unless we're talking RF, in which case tying it up makes more sense.
