is this ok

So I got a new adjuster strap from Russ today, I need to cut the old one and replace it with this one, well the new one is cut at the end, no hemm or anything, I just want to make sure the new one is ok to use, I mean is it going to unravel all the way up eventually?

Is the end melted so it won't unravel? It sounds the same as the Britax ones (I just replaced my MA adjuster straps this summer). The reason you need to cut the hem off of the one on the seat is because it won't fit through the mechanism (too thick) and so to feed the new one thru it needs to be thinner also. If it's not melted just use a match or lighter and carefully melt the end 'threads' together. It's hard to tell but it looks melted in your picture.

And if melted doesn't quite do it, once you're done you can paint some clear nail polish or a fray-stop product (available at the fabric store) on it. Usually melting works great with that kind of webbing, though.

no not melted at all, just cut and left alone. but I will do the clear nailpolish thing, I used to do that to my point shoe ribbons when I was a ballet dancer (I was too afraid of burning my ribbon ends lol, I will make Keith try burning it, I am terrified of fire)
