ERF Britax Boulevard

A friend of mine just bought a Britax Boulevard for her 15 mos old. I talked to her about extended rear-facing which she is all for since it is safer for her baby. She just got the carseat and had her husband install it. Once it was in, she put her baby in it. She said her daughter's knees were bent so much that they were up by her face. I ERF my daughter until she was over two yrs old (in a Marathon) and her knees were never bent that much. I told her to make sure the chair was in the RF reclined position, which she said it was. My only other advice is to bring it to a car seat check. Any other suggestions?

It's not unsafe or uncomfortable. Have her daughter move her knees, see about reclining her car's seat if her car allows it, and otherwise know that her legs and body and spine are safer than forward facing.

Did they still have the infant insert in? It takes up a fair amount of room and puts the baby further forward in the seat which takes up leg room. My 3.5yr old 28lbs 36" can rf in his DC just fine without his knees up by his face. ;) And my 15mo 25lber doesn't even thouch the back seat with her feet yet. I think some of it is the vehicle and how it installs, but we've never had leg room issues with Britax seats when they are in the Suburban.

My 3 year old chooses her Britax seats over her Radian quite often.

If I can get photobucket to work, I'll upload some photos
