About TN's law, I'm glad they updated the webpage with those "notes"!

A year or two ago they had no such notes. If you read the law carefully, it actually says that past 1 year of age, the child must be forward facing. Such a poorly worded law, for sure. The reason I came across the law back then is because a mama from another forum was ticketed for having her 2 year old RF! I even emailed with the head of the state high way patrol and he did confirm that anybody RFing past 1 year would be ticketed! YIKES!

Well thankfully that is not how the law was intended and I'm glad they updated the website to reflect that.

I was reading this post and it made me curious as to what LA law stated. I researched it and this is the law that pertains to my child:
(b) A child who is at least one year of age but younger than four years of age or who weighs at least twenty pounds but less than forty pounds shall be restrained in a forward-facing child safety seat.

So would I technically be breaking the law because my son who is 14 months and 22lbs is RF? Or does anyone know if LA provides for extended RF even though it is not stated?

Lauren:)
P.S. I am not turning Brayden FF, I would rather pay the ticket:p

Never just pay the ticket. Go to court with your car manual, the car seat manual, phisiology of children's necks (3 separate pieces), information on extended rear facing, etc.

Educate "the system", get their support and press for all law enforcement to be better educated.
