EFTA tether hook problem

Last time I had a problem with this hook it was just that the moving part was outside of the non-moving part... kinda like the TrueFit ones like to do.

I went to install it FF in MIL's car yesterday and found this.

I have NO idea how it happened. None whatsoever. And I cannot for the life of me get it out. At all. No way no how. DH either.

The adjuster part just will NOT go low enough on the metal clip for me to squeeze it in and slide it off.

Is the TT replaceable on the EFTA? DOM is 02/01/10.

Help!!

How much of the thin part of the clip is inside the adjuster? Did you try bending it a bit to get it out of the adjuster? Or, maybe if you tilt the adjuster a bit and then try to push the thin part over and unhook it?

I wound up getting it out, completely on accident, while I was on the phone with evenflo. Go figure... LOL!!

too ironic! but for future problems (aka... THIS problem coming up again)... the tether IS replaceable.

Of course, I hope that both this never happens again and that you are never faced with having to replace it.
