Anyone need a Scenera??

Ok, so after seeing the new blue Scenera at Walmart, I want that one. Or maybe the Uptown or FPSVD, not sure.. I have the black and tan now that I am gonna sell. I just bought it a month ago and it has a DOM of December 2006. I will sell it for $30 shipped(is that too much?). I have the book and the cupholder, but not the original box. I wanted to offer it here before I craigslist it!

PM if someone needs it or wants it.

Also, no child has ever even ridden in it and it has been installed twice in my car. No accidents, obviously.

I have to say, I don't think 30 is too much, considering it's only going to be a couple of months older than the ones at walmart. lol (Seriously, both of the sceneras I have had a DOM within the month that I bought them).

Too bad I already have a Scenera...I'm disappointed with the FPSVD though. :(

Wonder if my dd would fit RF'ing in it.....it could get us at least another few months RF'ing once she hits 33 lbs in her MA. What are the harness heights on the Scenera?

I *think* the top harness is 15", but I can measure in bit. I have to run home anyway. I forgot my purse this morning! It's been one of those mornings.

Really? Disappointed how? I was really leaning towards the Uptown, simply because of the 8 yr lifespan. That would put it at 2014, I think. I better have kids by then! However, I was trying to talk some friends in the FPSVD, thinking it would be better than an AO or something, in terms of ease of use. Is it hard to use?

Mostly I'm having issues getting it right in my car (escort). If I can get an acceptable install for my car (for both the car-seat and MY seat), then I'll be fine with it. But it's trying my freakin nerves. lol

If not, it'll go to my mothers car, where he is forward facing--probably with the harness covers off.

The other thing is...I've only had it since last Thurday (the 5th) and the straps keep twisting! It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't claim that they didn't do that, on the box. lol (I also don't like the way the chest clip comes apart, but that's more of a "I'm used to just pushing the one button on the scerena.." than a "it's bad" kinda thing)

The uptowns have an 8 year life span? No kidding! Who was it that said they wouldn't trust a cosco beyond 5? Skater?

I don't know that I would trust a Cosco seat if it was used constantly for 8 years, but mine would just sit in a closet being used occasionally. I had an AO that was six years old and the straps were a nightmare and I think the sharp edges got sharper. :p I plan to buy Blvds for my own kiddos, but having the Uptown as a spare would be nice. I love the cover on that seat! So soft.
That is a bummer about the FP straps. I hate twisty straps with a passion.

Yeah, I think that would be a better lifespan. I think I would end up getting rid of it before it expired, but it would be nice to know I could use it if I had to in five years or so.

Also, how do they decide 8 yrs on one seat and 6 on another? Is the plastic different or do they just decide they are pretty sure the plastic should last that long?
