Booster use in Toyota Highlander commercials

Snotty kid (and a bit of sloppy shoulder belt placement) aside, big props to them. The kid has to be at least 8.

The first time I saw it I thought maybe it was an integrated one like Volvo's, but I'm pretty sure it's a Clek backless.

It's at 0:30 in the first one and 0:39 in the second.

strange the stuff you can find on the internet -

The campaign includes three lighthearted, comedic TV spots, starting with “Rolling Up” premiering on October 25. The commercials feature Nathan James, an eight-year-old boy on a mission to “un-dork” his parents. A purveyor of cool, Nathan uses the 2011 Highlander to demonstrate how not to be lame. He has tips and tricks for dealing with not-so-hip parents which he shares in the additional “Kid Cave” and “Scatter” commercials

He's supposedly 8, so legal to ride in just a seatbelt in at least 47 states (IIRC, TN and WY are age 9 and WA is 4'9").

He may be legal in WA. It's 8 or 4'9" here, though the seatbelt law states the seatbelt must fit appropriately. So basically the law here is booster until the seatbelt fits. :)

Definitely awesome for Toyota, though.

Has anyone seen the Highlander commercial with the 4 year old? It's a different family and they're driving by an amusement park.

The kids is forward facing in a MyRide. It looks incredibly reclined, but that doesn't mean it's improperly installed - just the nature of that seat. The harness looks good, though.

eta: here it is -
