When my ds was 6 months old, I got him an Eddie Bauer 3 in 1...ya know, cause it's the last seat you'll ever need! lol.

Today, I found the seat in my closet and decided to take pics of him sitting in the same seat. It's totally outgrown now.

Here he is at 6 months old..the day that we got this seat. (I'm proud of myself! The straps are tight and the chest clip is in the right place!)

Here he is today at 4.5 years old in the same seat. His shoulders are over the top *usable* slot. Sorry for the poor quality. I took the pics in my closet using my cell phone. haha

He HATED sitting in it and kept insisting it was uncomfortable. This is the best face that "shut up and look happy for minute" produced. lol.

Just thought I'd share.

Can you imagine it as a booster now (considering that's what most people would have done 6+ months ago in your situation).

I had one of them. I took it back. I put it in my car and then tried it as a booster.. There was so much room in when my son sat in it that the belt did not even hit is hips..
it went back and I got the Nautilus.

What is really amazing is that your DS is on the smaller side for his age, right? So most kids would have outgrown the harness LONG ago.

Yeah. He's like 10% for height or something like that. But I *think* he's got a pretty average torso height (15in). Still scary to think most kids wouldnt make it even to his age in the "only seat you'll ever need".

And that is exactly why mine is going in the "to be put on craigslist" pile, along with all the other barely used baby stuff I got before dd was born. Too bad I didn't take a pic of dd in hers when she was a newborn, from what I remember the fit was horrible.

The new seats, with the top slots usable harnessed and 50 lb limits would be great seats IF they fixed booster mode to position the belt properly and last a reasonable amount of time.
