Stupid Question, Washing Carseat Cover

Just received my LO's new carseat. Am I supposed to wash the cover before using?

Is it new? I never did. I did however put a cloth diaper behind his head just so he did not rub on the fabric.

You don't have too, I never did, but you can. Just make sure you follow the instruction manual. What car seat is it?

For infant seats, I suggest opening the box & plastic and letting it "air out" for a few weeks before the baby is born.

If you do wash (I don't think it's necessary though), take lots of pics so you know where everything goes when you put it back on. If it needs washing, gentle cycle and air dry.

FYI the harness straps never go in the wash.
