So sad

I wonder if the police even realized the baby was in the vehicle. If they had, they probably would have used other methods such as continuing to clear out traffic ahead and letting the car run out of gas instead of deploying the spikes. Once they do that, who knows how the driver will respond. :(

I wonder what caused that woman to drive like that -- drugs, alcohol, extreme rage?

It's very sad for that poor baby :(

I agree. It's highly unlikely the cops would have continued a high speed choice knowing a tiny defenseless baby was in the car :(

I think they would have done something else if they knew a baby was in the car for this very reason. They would not put the baby in danger unless more people would of been hurt

That's so sad :( I can't imagine driving that fast with my baby in the car, restrained or unrestrained. I wonder what she was on or if she's mentally disabled somehow.

They did lay down the thingy that blows the tires -- she just kept riding on the rims.... I don't think the police could have done much different even if the baby were in a carseat properly :( Mom definitely sounds like she was on something *SIGH*

I was only an hour away from this crash.

According to a Texas trooper on the news, while there was a restraint in the vehicle, it was facing the wrong direction and it was not secured.

To say I am angry at this mother is an understatement.

I could never put myself infront of a child... She didnt even care that her baby could and did get hurt she was only thinking about herself. Even with kids that are not mine i would risk my life for them to be safe
