What should I do about it. I don't want to evict her, yet I don't want her there. I also don't want to piss off a mama by messing with her nest.

Any suggestions?

The babies are cute BTW.

Maybe call Animal Control or Wildlife and Fisheries and see if they will relocate the animals to a more appropriate habitat for you?

Oh, and I love opossums too. The babies are so cute.

Lauren:)

whats an opossum? I guess I'm too far north for them. Are they kind of like a racoon, or more of a rodent?

And, no - I don't like them! We have them, too... :(

Here's a link about opossums from a wildlife rescue center http://www.wildliferescuecenter.org/articles/article/1159851/10476.htm They're marsupials, nocturnal, and very adaptive to suburban/urban environments. When DH was in grad school, we used to be startled by opposums and sometimes racoons that would hang out inside the trash dumpsters at our student housing complex. Taking out the trash after dark in particular would be an adventure greeted by little eyes peering back at you from inside the dumpster.

Ummm...maybe call animal control? (We pay taxes for that sort of thing, right? I'm never very sure about that, lol, but I bet they have the right tools for relocating her).

:)

ETA: or, duh, Julie, read the other posts first... I just scanned down to the pictures... only marsupial in North America, I know that! (they have them in Australia, too, they used to sit on our fence and eat the rose hips...that's the rose fruit if you leave your rosebushes alone for years, lol... they were cute, then!)
