Has he outgrown its too close for me to tell. The shot head on looks like he has, but the side shot makes me wonder.

Looks like he has another inchish to me. It may be easier to tell if you move the headrest way up, and/or put a one-inch thick book on top of his head.

I'd say he's got about an inch, an 1 1/2" to grow.

Seats often look outgrown from the front before they truly are. The side is the best way to judge, and measuring like in the link tjham posted.
