California is attempting to revive AB 2108 with AB 881. If passed and signed by the Governor, AB 881 will strengthen existing laws by requiring the use of booster seats in the rear seat until age 8. The measure requires children to ride in their existing booster seats for an additional two years, or until they reach 4 feet nine inches tall. AB 881 also clarifies for California that children should at a minimum ride rear facing to age one and twenty pounds.
For those of you in California, please help by sending a letter of support for AB 881 to Assembly Member, Pedro Nava, the Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee by April 12, 2007.
