My son is almost 4 and almost 40lbs and falls asleep in the car often. The position of his head is hideous...frightening really!

I have even tried reclining the actual set backward.

I have a 2004 CRV and a 14 mos old dd (thinking of getting her a radian XL)

what would be a good alternative?

is the radian comfy forward facing?

Thanks all, nice to have aplace to get these kinds of questions answered.

My 3 1/2 year old DS rides very comfortably in a Radian 65 in our Honda CRV. He also sleeps alot, but his head tends to go to either side. Every once in a while his head might flop forward, but usually not. I really love our Radian! It does sit lower than some, so until recently, it was hard for him to see alot of things outside the vehicle. He must be growing taller because he is seeing alot more lately.

We had forward head flop really bad in the Radian with my daughter, but she's fine in the Nautilus.

Can you try teaching him to rest his head to the side when he feels sleepy? I know that's what my dd does and the headwings are close enough she can do that in the nautilus.

Maybe the radian XT would have that too provided the child was tall enough to make use of the headwings?
