To put my 6 year6 month dd in a booster. She weighs 52 lbs but I feel so guilty. But my almost 4 year old weighs 50 lbs and isn't fitting in the ma anymore. He's not fat just tall and solid and we are squishing is man parts everytime we try to buckle him. So he needs dds regent but I feel guilty putting her in the booster.

As long as your booster fits your daughter well, and she sits properly, it's absolutely safe. She's more than met the minimums, good job! Her bones are well enough developed to fare well in a crash in a booster, and she's at an age when most kids can fit properly and a size when she should fit well in many boosters. My daughter is 6 years 6 months, and 40-ish lbs., and has been in a booster a good 80% of the time for quite a while now. :)

Can your daughter use a booster properly? Does the booster fit the child and the car?

There is absolutely no reason to feel guilty about putting a child in a properly used, age- and size-appropriate child restraint.

She can sit fine in one. Has for about a year but I have been cheap and refused to buy a booster when she has a seat she already fits in.

I know how you feel. DD is 6y4m and about 42lbs. and can sit in a booster but I just can't seem to mover her out of the harness seats. I don't know why its so hard to make that move.

I know how you feel... and my kiddo is slimmer than that... I hated booster training her at 5 when she was outgrowing the Radian... I hated moving her full time to booster 2wks before her 6th birthday when she outgrew the Nautilus in torso height (she's all torso)

But you know, I just keep reminding myself the safest one is the one that fits your car, fits your child, your budget, and that you will install and use correctly each time.

Heck, I had to get her an Evenflo Big Kid (which feels so flimsy to me) because it fits her best in her dad's 2-door car and lets her still be able to buckle herself... the FPSV booster we had was too wide in the shoulders for her... now I'm not nagging her every 5 min about sitting perfectly still... yes, she can breathe again... she can shrug her shoulders... she can turn her head... but I have to remind myself that she shouldn't be able to just sit motionless like a crash test dummy.

I don't think it would be worth it at that age and size for another harnessed seat when she's doing well in a booster.

And obviously, if her sister needs the seat, then there it is.
