I tried O in the nauti today...

He's just even with the second to top harness slots. No pix since I was being quick in the target isle but I raised the headrest as high as possible and yep, just about dead even with the second to top slots... The kid's only 2 years 8 months.... YIKES! So he's have about 2-2.5 inches before reaching the top slot in the nauti and considering he's got about 2 inches before he outgrows the RN RF it seems bananas. I've seen much taller kids in these seats so why does he have such little growth room? I don't get it.

Seems like a dumb question for you but... are you sure you raised the headrest all the way?

Nothing in your post gives a real clue about his torso height for me- have you measured it?

(and yeah, I know, you SAY you raised it all the way, so presumably you're sure, but are you sure sure?)

Yeah. I nearly pulled it off because it wasn't clicked in all the way so I know it was all the way up. He's dead even with the second from top slots and has about a 15.5 inch torso. He was being a little wiggly today so I'm not 100% if it longer than that but it looked just a hair over 15.5. So he could potentially use the second to top slots for a sneeze then they'd go to the top. I tried it because he is ff in moms car and mom is considering a new seat.

I believe it. My DNe has been on the top slots -- yes, the TOP slots -- since he was three years old.

That's Katy too, 5.5 and just a hair under the second from the top slot when reclined. A little more room then that if I don't recline it.

He'd be over the second to top slot if reclined. This was straight up and down. WOWZA. I was trying to suggest this to his mom, but I don't think he'll have that much growing room in it.

A's on the same slot. Don't ya just long torsoed kiddos ;) The FR85 has the highest harness slot at 20". The nauti and prosport are 18". You (and me) can always hope they'll slow down on the torso growth lol. A wears 4T tops and bottoms.

O's in 4T tops and 3T bottoms. He's a skinny little thing but I just want to put some bricks on his head to stop this whole growth thing. He'll stay RF in the XTSL for as long as possible (another 2 inches) but I think I see a FR 85 in our future. I might have to think of more options however because a FR 85 is WAYYYY out of mom's budget.
