3 Accross

I posted awhile back asking if anyone thought we could get 3 accross in 2003 Ford Explorer and I know I cant. I am due in March with our third but hubby would like to go ahead and get our other two new seats now. They are currently both RF in Graco My Rides, I know I can not get much of anything in between them. We would like to keep them both RF but would consider FF our son when the baby gets here if we need to. So what would you recomend that I can get three accross? I would like a bucket for the baby and then move to the convertable later so I will need a recomendation for two convertables and a bucket and then three convertables. I know I can do it with the Radian but would like to know if I have any other options besides those.

My son is 3yr old and appx 30 pounds not sure on height but not overly tall. My Daughter is 17 months appx 20 lbs and also average to below average for height. My newbies are usually between 7 1/2 and 8 lbs. They tend to stay tiny so something that fits little well ones well would be nice.

Edit: I ment to say I know I cant get 3 Britax accross.

Cosco Sceneras are about 3 inches narrower than the MR. That would buy you 6 inches right there. Are you using LATCH or the seat belt to install them? Seat belt will give you a little extra room as well.

What is the 3 year old's torso height? (Floor to top of shoulder when child is seated against a wall)

We use the seat belt w locking clip to install, my seat belt locks but it makes my seats tip. I get a better install with the seatbelt then with latch. Not sure on the 3 yr olds torso height, I will have to measure him later, He is in the middle slots of the MR when RF.

I know you're aware of it, but I definitely recommend the Radian + MyRide combo. It would keep your 3yo RF (if that's what you want,) and should give you enough room to use the bucket of your choice. They puzzle sooo well together. And given your kids' choices, the Radian's 8yr lifespan, and the fact that you often need a Radian to make a 3-across work, I really think it would be a good choice for you.

There's also a very small maybe that you could indeed get the Radian between the two MyRides, at least if they're all RF. The MyRide usually works well for newborns (if you're looking to skip the bucket.)

That said, I find that Avenue + MyRide works fairly well, too. It would certainly be less expensive, albeit not as compact. :)

You have the locking clip within an inch of the latchplate, right?

We have a Jeep Liberty (probably a similar backseat size to yours) and can fit 2 RF Radians and a SR35 tho it is pretty tight. A KF30 works really well, as does a MR. I would agree with Carrie the RF Radian/RF MR/infant bucket would probably work well too.
