Booster training when and how?

So I admitt I did not booster train Julianna, she outgrew the harness on her radian by 6.5 and I put her in a booster, which was a mistake, since she did not sit well at first and I had to lock the belt for a while..

Anyways this time around with Fiona I want to make sure I booster train her first.. she Will certainly sit better than Julianna, she is a very calm and safety consiencious child anyways. (she freaked out when she saw her classmates board the field trip van with backless boosters and was crying cause she was scared she was going to have to ride like that)

I have decided she is going to switch to a booster full Time on her 6th birthday so long as she has reached 40 lbs.. I know she will be able to handle it, I mean I bet she could now if she wasn't so light weight along with the young bone structure, she is roughly around 34 lbs now, last time she was weighed was in March and she was 32 lbs but she feels like she had a decent gain since. I Will find out soon.

So Now would booster training at 5 even be safe if she goes for her 5 year and is say 35 lbs? if I use like a turbobooster or old style parkway.. something that starts at 30 lbs? I would probably just have her booster in DH's car and harness in mine (she only rides to soccer and back once a week in his car)

Ideas?

I think it depends on the kid. My dds1, 2, and 3 were all fine going from harness to booster at 40 pounds or age 5. My ds1 was "booster trained", but still has issues at 7 sitting properly all the time.

I decided to start booster training when I thought that riding in a booster in an emergency might be necessary. For us that was at about 5 years 2 months. I want to make sure that if it becomes necessary for her to ride in a booster, she'll know what she needs to do.
