Graco Safeseat level indicator

I lent out my seat to my SIL for my niece a little over a year ago. Since I"m expecting in Feb. and my niece is nearing the weight limit of the seat, I've gotten the seat back.
Turns out the level indicator had fallen off and no one noticed.
Can I call/email Graco and have a new one sent and attach it myself? Is it an important piece to the seat or can I just eyeball the 45 angle?

I don't think it is important at all. Still, I would call Graco and let them know of the issue.

Register it at Gracobaby.com then go into replacement parts. My SS1s and MR that are registered I have the option to buy a new level indicator.
