DS is getting squished in Nautilus, suggestions?

So my ds (7) is complaining that on longer car rides he is uncomfortable in his Nautilus. I know it's due to the narrowing in the arm/shoulder area since he typically rides with his arms up over the wings.

We tried the Monterey, Parkway, Frontier 85, Strada and Radian80 over the weekend. He likes the Monterey and the Strada the best.

Here's my dilemma: He is 7 years old, 53 inches and 52 pounds. He is a known and confirmed wiggler which is why I am not even considering going backless yet.

I just can't wrap my head around spending $100-$180 on a new seat when I know he's probably got less than a year or so until he'll outgrow it in height (his feet are HUGE, I know he'll grow into them)...unless I could sell my Nauti for just about what a new seat would cost me...but are people really buying them with so many other options on the market?

Anything you say is much appreciated.

I'd sell your Nautilus to fund the Monterey or Strada. The Nautilus is pretty popular and I'm sure it would sell on Craigslist right away if you listed it. My DS1 is also 7 years old and is 49" tall and 57lbs. We have a Monterey and he used it this summer at summer camp. He was able to buckle himself, but it was very annoying how the back separates from the bottom portion every time you move it unless you're very careful. If you're going to be moving it in and out of cars I'd see if the Strada stays together better. It belt guide in the highest position is super high though, what is the Strada's like? Does your son have a super long torso? I'm 5'7 and Monterey's belt guide in it's highest position is just an inch or two below my shoulder when I sat in it to try it out. You may be surprised how long it lasts your DS as a high back booster.
