I now own 2 illegal seats

I was at Goodwill today, and just couldn't pass up the 2 infant seats. Peg Perego Prenatal. Anyone heard of them? It's a 3pt harness, but there are holes for a hip strap  They're really cute, blue and pink, but mildewey. They came with a double stroller frame, but no bases (and looks like it can't be used baseless). Pics to come later tonight.

The only thing I know about Pegs is that they couldn't be used baseless until a couple years ago, and they are some of the most upright buckets out there.

Can't wait to see, because I don't see it in the Pictoral - is it American?

Are they Pegs or PreNatal? PreNatal is Italian I think, does a lot of Knockoffs. As it is a store brand. They look just like Pegs.

Most European Infant seats are 3pt, but the crotch buckle will be long thus buckling near babies tummy, not feet like North American 3pts. I still think you can't beat the fit of a good European 3pt harness on a newborn. I loved my Maxi Cosi cabrio for DS! (Not illegal -we were overseas).

Need pics!!

Sorry, Forgot that part in my post. THey are not American. Took me a bit to figure that out though :) THat's why they're illegal ;)

It's Prenatal. I thought it said Peg too, but maybe that was just the stroller. The stroller is already by the dumpster.

If I wanted to was the mildew off the covers and harness, how would I do that? Forget about all the normal tips because these seats will never ever be used again. I'm thinking bleach, but then won't the adorable colors go away too?

No splitter plate. I guess because it's a 3pt, and the 2 ends aren't attached like they are in the US.

Crotch buckle doesn't look longer than ours

The only label on the seat. No English.

The 3 point harness I used for DS2 was an Evenflo Portabout (or something like that) and it had a crotch buckle on a strap just like the 5pt buckets. Only difference was instead of 2 buckle tongue it was a single wider one.
It doesn't look longer than our 5 pt harness buckles, but think about how our 3-pt harnesses work...they buckle down into a buckle set into the seat, NOT on a harness strap at all usually.....so that buckle would be much higher up on a child than one in a US 3-pt seat ;)

Those are really cute! Keep them. Or give them away to people you know won't use them for real babies. I'm thinking doll seats. Especially for a pair of adorable boy/girl twin dolls.

They're even cuter w/o mildew I bet, lol. I think the fact that 1 is pink and 1 is blue increases the cuteness factor :)

So, just wash them in detergent and a huge lot of vinegar?
